A
key ingredient to the success of the clinical program at Northwestern Law is
the substantial involvement of an SBOC Student Board in all aspects of
planning and execution. The Board was voted the outstanding student
organization at the Students
seeking joint JD/MBA degrees from the A
particularly rewarding aspect of the student activity has been to forge a
strong link with the graduate business school. More recently, the SBOC
Student Board and faculty advisors are exploring ways in which the Law School
might ally itself more closely with the University's College of Engineering
and Applied Sciences and with the numerous governmental and private sector
organizations working to stimulate economic development in the Chicago metropolitan
area. This is seen as another way in which Northwestern Law might "give
back" to the community and through which its law students can gain
valuable experience and professional relationships to help them with their
careers. SBOC Student Board members also conduct community workshops and
engage in other outreach activities involving small business,
entrepreneurship and economic development.
