The JD/LLM International Lawyers' Association was founded in the fall of 2000 to provide a forum for JD and LLM students with interest or experience in practicing international law to develop their understanding of international practice and assist them in building career opportunities both here and abroad. In addition, the Association seeks to support the Administration's efforts in advancing Northwestern Law's Strategic Plan abroad. To do this we have created the Global Network, which is a database of JD, LLM, and LLM-K students who have worked or studied around the world. This network is available to the Dean's Office for planning the Dean's trips to foreign countries and law schools, to Admissions in evaluating prospective students, to our International Programs Office in building their existing country files, and Center for Career Strategy and Advancement in facilitating job opportunities for current students. Finally, the Association organizes various social and cultural activities throughout the year geared to allow the internationally diverse student body to informally network and build lasting friendships. To become a Member, please contact Robert Oberlies or Loic Guerin.
