By Public Transportation

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) train system, referred to as the 'L,' provides rapid transit service to downtown. The closest train stop to the school is the Chicago Red Line station (Chicago Avenue and State Street). Refer to the CTA Web site for train maps, fare prices, and methods of payment.

If you are traveling to Northwestern Law from the Chicago suburbs, you may also consider taking the Metra (suburban commuter trains).

From O'Hare International Airport
There is a CTA 'L' stop located in the airport. Take the O'Hare Blue Line train to Chicago Avenue. Transfer to the #66 Chicago bus (to Navy Pier) and get off at Fairbanks. Refer to the campus map to find specific Northwestern Law locations.

Airport shuttles to downtown are also available through Continental Air Transport. Buses leave every 5-10 minutes from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. from the baggage claim area. The cost is $21 one way and $39 round trip. Call 1-800-654-7871 to reserve a seat in advance or make a reservation at the Continental Air Transport ticket counter after you arrive.

From Midway Airport
There is a CTA 'L' stop located in the airport. Take the Midway Orange Line train to Roosevelt. Transfer to the Red Line train and travel northbound (towards Howard) to the Chicago Avenue station. Walk five blocks east along Chicago Avenue to the Law School campus. Refer to the campus map to find specific Northwestern Law locations.

Airport shuttles to downtown are also available through Continental Air Transport. Check in with the Continental Air Transport ticket agent located near the baggage claim area. A shuttle bus departs every 15 minutes between 7 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Cost is $16 one way and $30 round trip. Call 1-800-654-7871 to reserve a seat in advance or make a reservation at the Continental Air Transport ticket counter after you arrive.

From Amtrak and Metra Station
Union Station is the final destination for Amtrak and some Metra trains. Take the #151 Sheridan bus from Canal (between Jackson and Adams) to Chicago and Michigan avenues. Turn right (east) on Chicago Avenue and walk about half a mile to the Law School campus.

Some Metra trains end at Ogilvie Station. Take the #56 Milwaukee bus at Washington and Canal. Transfer to the Red Line train at the Washington and State streets station. Take the train north (towards Howard) to the Chicago Avenue stop. Walk five blocks east along Chicago Avenue to the Law School campus.

By Car

From O'Hare International Airport
Follow outbound (to city) traffic to I-90/94 east (Kennedy Expressway) and continue on the Kennedy for about 25 miles. After passing North Avenue, move into the right lane to exit at Ohio Street east. Continue east on Ohio to Michigan Avenue; turn left (north) at Michigan. To park in the garage at Superior and St. Clair Streets, turn right (east) at Superior Street. View the campus map to locate other nearby parking and buildings on campus.

From Midway Airport
Take Cicero Avenue north to I-55 north (Stevenson Expressway) and continue on the Stevenson for about 10 miles to North Lake Shore Drive. Exit Lake Shore Drive at Chicago Avenue, turning left (west) and continuing west for one block. Turn left (south) at Fairbanks Court. Turn right (west) at Huron Street and right (north) at St. Clair Street if parking in the garage at St. Clair and Superior Streets. From north of Chicago
Take I-90/94 east (Kennedy Expressway). Soon after passing North Avenue, move into the right lane to exit at Ohio Street east. Continue east on Ohio to Michigan Avenue; turn left (north) at Michigan. To park in the garage at Superior and St. Clair Streets, continue north on Michigan and turn right (east) at Superior Street. From south of Chicago
Take I-55 north (Stevenson Expressway) or I-57 north to I-90/94 west. Exit at Congress Parkway/Expressway and continue east on Congress to Michigan Avenue. Turn left (north) at Michigan. To park in the garage at Superior and St. Clair Streets, continue north on Michigan and turn right (east) at Superior Street. From east of Chicago
Take I-80/90/94 west to I-90/94 west. Exit at Congress Parkway/Expressway and continue east on Congress to Michigan Avenue. Turn left (north) at Michigan. To park in the garage at Superior and St. Clair Streets, continue north on Michigan and turn right (east) at Superior Street. From west of Chicago
Take I-88 east to I-290 east (Eisenhower Expressway), or take I-80 east to I-55 north (Stevenson Expressway) or to I-57 north, and then take I-90/94 west. Exit at Congress Parkway/Expressway and continue east on Congress to Michigan Avenue. Turn left (north) at Michigan. To park in the garage at Superior and St. Clair Streets, continue north on Michigan and turn right (east) at Superior Street.
