The Criminal Justice Reform Initiative is committed to exposing potentially fatal flaws in the administration of capital punishment. In light of more than 100 wrongful convictions in U.S. capital cases since the mid 1970s, CJRI is dedicated to promoting informed public dialogue on how the inaccuracy and unfairness in the capital system can best be addressed. To that end, CJRI supports research, publishes and disseminates educational materials, and sponsors forums and other public education initiatives relating to the capital punishment system and possible alternatives.
