Publications

Requests for new print publications and marketing and publicity materials will be considered on a case by case basis, depending on how they fit into the Law School's overall communications and marketing strategy. Departments should not attempt to design any print or electronic publications on their own and must first contact the Marketing and Communications department to discuss the creation of any publications, including invitations and event programs.

The Marketing and Communications team will work with you to determine the need and value of each proposed piece and then create the publication. We may suggest alternative options and edit content if we feel it is necessary. The Marketing and Communications team will also determine if an outside vendor is needed and will coordinate all projects.

Publications such as event schedules, post cards, invitations, etc., are done in house but do take time to create. Please allow about five to six weeks for production. Additional time will be necessary for larger brochures. Any use of the Law School name and logo not mentioned on these pages must be managed by the Marketing and Communications department.

Process for Creating Print Publications

To ensure that all publications are completed on time and in a professional, accurate, and cost-effective manner, we have developed the following process:

  • To initiate a project, contact the marketing and communications department
  • Set up an initial meeting to discuss objectives, scope, and timeline of project
  • Publications team develops a project schedule and written estimate of print and mailing costs as well as other applicable charges
  • Client e-mails publication copy to the Marketing and Communications department. In preparing your text for publication, please refer to the Editorial Style Guide for guidelines on our preferred forms of style and usage
  • Any necessary photos or graphics will be planned out and scheduled
  • Communications editor sends edited copy back to client for review and approval
  • Approved edited copy sent to Publications for design
  • Publications sends designed layout back to client for proofreading
  • Return proofread design back to Publications for any final changes
  • Publication sends to printer
  • Deliver to client
