Advanced Legal Writing: Writing for the Court

This course teaches the core principles of effective writing for judicial law clerks. Through readings, discussion, and writing exercises and critique, students will develop the ability to think and write like an impartial decision-maker. The three graded assignments will entail researching, drafting and editing bench memos and opinions, resulting in one or more writing samples suitable for clerkship and other job applications.
