Advanced Legal Reasoning: Federal Sentencing

This course will explore the development of the federal sentencing system as grounded in both common law and the United States Sentencing Guidelines. Students will hear from experienced criminal law practitioners and have the opportunity to observe sentencing hearings while exploring the implications of this critical component of the criminal justice system. This class will include a significant one-on-one advisory component, and students will be expected to meet with the primary instructor multiple times during the semester to review classwork and progress.
