Commercial Law: Secured Transactions (LLM)

Commercial Secured Transactions for International Students is a course designed for students from civil law jurisdictions that may not have adopted a comprehensive law on personal property security. The course will focus on Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code. It will also examine how Article 9 uses common law contracts concepts to create durable and robust property rights, and how those property rights facilitate lending and trade. Core coverage will be approximately the same as the traditional Secured Transactions course, but with emphasis on basic elements of property and priority.
