First-Generation Prelaw Conference

Navigating Law School Admissions for First-Generation and Underrepresented Students

Saturday, November 12, 2022

9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Overview

First-Generation applicants to law school face a unique set of challenges, often navigating the application and admissions process without the networks, resources and support that may be available to their peers.  This conference breaks down those barriers by providing information, connections, and resources for prospective law students. This program targets any students who do not have a familial relationship to the legal profession, as well as students who come from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the legal profession. Sessions and workshops taking place at the conference include:

  • Welcome from Dean Hari Osofsky
  • Navigating the Law School Admissions Process with Q&A
  • First-Gen Student Panel: "What I Wish I Knew"
  • Lunch with Current Law Students
  • Financing Law School
  • Personal Statement Workshop

There is no cost for participation, but advance registration is required. Please register to attend no later than Friday, November 4

Registration has now closed. If you'd like to be added to the waitlist, please email The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at diversity@law.northwestern.edu.
