Biography
Michael A. Zuckerman is an experienced lawyer who teaches Communication and Legal Reasoning. Before joining the law school faculty, Professor Zuckerman practiced law at Jones Day and clerked for several federal judges.
Professor Zuckerman’s practice included trial and appellate litigation and internal investigations. Pro bono service, for which Professor Zuckerman has been recognized, has always been important to him. Professor Zuckerman clerked for the Honorable Amy J. St. Eve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, in addition to earlier clerkships for Judge St. Eve on the district court, the Honorable Eric L. Clay of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the Honorable Cheryl L. Pollak of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Professor Zuckerman has published extensively. His works have appeared in academic journals including the Cornell Law Review and the Yale Journal of Law & Public Policy, and in popular press including CBS News online and the Des Moines Registrar. Professor Zuckerman is the co-author of a widely cited series of articles on social media and juries that he published with Judge St. Eve in the Duke Journal of Law and Technology.
Professor Zuckerman earned his J.D. cum laude from Cornell Law School, where he served on the Cornell Law Review. He holds a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
