Biography
Shalini Bhargava Ray is the Jack N. Pritzker Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law for Spring 2026 and the Yetta G. Samford, Jr. Professor of Law at the University of Alabama School of Law. Her research focuses on immigration enforcement and the production and use of federal administrative guidance documents. Her scholarship has been published in journals including the Columbia Law Review, the North Carolina Law Review, and the American Journal of Law and Equality. She has also written for broader audiences at outlets including SCOTUSblog, Lawfare, and The Regulatory Review. From 2023-24, she served as a consultant to the Administrative Conference of the United States (ACUS) for a project on individualized guidance.
