Danielle Hamilton
, Interim Director, Carter G. Phillips Center for Supreme Court and Appellate Advocacy

Danielle Hamilton is a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and the Interim Director of the Carter G. Phillips Center for Supreme Court and Appellate Advocacy.


Jeffrey T. Green, Co-Director, Supreme Court Clinic

Jeffrey Green is a Partner at Sidley Austin LLP and an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he serves as Co-Director of the Supreme Court Clinic.  He has been a Director of the Clinic since its founding and has served as lead counsel or co-counsel in a number of ground-breaking cases, including Gall v. United States, Apprendi v. New Jersey, and United States v. Booker. 

At Sidley, Jeff serves as Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. Prior to joining Sidley, Jeff clerked for the Honorable Jerry E. Smith, of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Along with Carter Phillips, Sarah Schrup, and Susan Provenzano, Jeff is the author of Advanced Appellate Advocacy, a casebook considered essential reading for appellate advocates.

Jeff graduated from Cornell University (B.A.), the University of Texas at Austin (M.A.), and the University of California Davis School of Law. 


Carter G. Phillips, Co-Director, Supreme Court Clinic

Carter Phillips is Adjunct Professor at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and Co-Director of the Supreme Court Clinic. He has been a Director of the Supreme Court Clinic since its founding, and is one of the country’s most experienced Supreme Court and appellate lawyers. 

Carter has argued more than ninety cases before the Supreme Court, which is more than any other individual in private practice; has argued in every federal circuit court; and has argued more than three dozen cases before the Federal Circuit. Carter has published widely, with articles or other pieces in the Northwestern University Law Review, the Washington and Lee Law Review, and the University of Miami Law Review. He is also, with Jeff Green, Sarah Schrup, and Susan Provenzano, the author of Advanced Appellate Advocacy.

Before joining Sidley, Carter served as an Assistant to the Solicitor General. Carter clerked for the Honorable Robert Sprecher, of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the Honorable Warren E. Burger, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Carter graduated from the Ohio State University and Northwestern Law School.


 

Angelia Starks, Legal Assistant, Federal Appellate Clinic

Angie Starks is a Legal Assistant for the Federal Appellate Clinic. Angie is instrumental in coordinating filings and processing Clinic logistics.
