Eligibility
Individuals who have held a full time academic position for 7 years or less (not counting time as a VAP or fellow) and whose scholarship deals with IP law.
Structure
Each participant can present a full draft and/or an early-stage idea.
1. Full Drafts
Participants who choose to present full drafts will be asked to distribute them by no later than Wednesday, July 11, 2018. All workshop participants are expected to read and be ready to provide comments on each of the drafts. Authors will not present their drafts. Instead, the group will go around the table and allow each participant to provide comments on the paper, followed by a group discussion. Each paper will be allotted approximately 45 minutes for comments and discussion from the group.
The drafts will not be posted publicly but will be circulated to the group.
2. Early-stage ideas
Participants who choose to present an early stage idea will be advised to provide an abstract or short summary by Wednesday, July 18, 2018. For these projects, the author will have the option of giving a brief summary/presentation and the rest of the time (approximately 30 minutes) will be left for discussion.
Logistics
Meals will be provided throughout the conference. Participants will be responsible for their own travel, lodging and other expenses.
