Mark Cohen has been appointed as a distinguished fellow of the Law School’s Center for Practice Engagement and Innovation (CPEI).

Cohen is the CEO and founder of Legal Mosaic, a legal business consulting company. He is also chief strategy officer and chair of the advisory board for Elevate, a legal consulting and technology company. He was the co-founder of Clearspire, a groundbreaking legal service provider, and has had a distinguished legal career as an assistant U.S. Attorney, a Biglaw partner, and founder and managing partner of a national litigation boutique firm. He is a regular contributor to Forbes and other legal media outlets.

“Mark Cohen is an influential thought leader in legal services,” Dean Daniel B. Rodriguez said. “His appointment will help us to leverage our internal projects and ambitions to expand the footprint and impact of CPEI. He will work closely with Jim Lupo and other leaders of the CPEI endeavor, as well as with other internal administrators, on outward-facing initiatives in the areas of law, business, and technology.”

CPEI, led by Professor James Lupo, is an incubator for legal education innovation. Created in 2015, the Center investigates how to best prepare students to practice law at a time of fundamental change and dynamic evolution in the profession. CPEI has hosted several forums and curriculum design charrettes, bringing together practitioners and educators. Earlier this year, CPEI piloted a weeklong intensive simulation-based client strategies course.
