Negotiation [Executive LLM Tel Aviv]

Negotiation is one of the most important skills you will learn as an attorney. No matter how excellent your ideas, or how sophisticated your analyses, most achievements in the practice of law require the ability to effectively communicate with and influence others. Whether negotiating with your clients, other attorneys, judges, your boss, your subordinates, your colleagues, your spouse, friends or enemies, this course will offer techniques and tools to enhance your power and ability to achieve your objectives. Negotiation is something you learn by doing, so the emphasis of the course is on experiential learning grounded in negotiation theory. Students spend most of their time participating in negotiation simulations, as well as discussing negotiation problems. Students are observed in their negotiations and receive feedback. The negotiation simulations cover a wide range of situations, such as negotiating the settlement of lawsuits, neighborhood disputes, personal services contracts, and employment disputes. This course is the equivalent of LITARB 670K (Negotiations KSM) and also Cross-Cultural Negotiations. Students may take only one for credit. Teaching method: Some lecture, discussion and simulation

Catalog Number: LITARB 895E
