LLM Programs

LLM Programs

Our LLM (Master of Law) degree programs expand students' knowledge of law and legal processes and provide opportunities for them to gain expertise in a specialized field of law. To apply, students must have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school or a comparable legal degree from a university outside of the United States.

LLM for International Students

The nine-month general LLM program offers outstanding graduates of foreign law schools an opportunity to study American law and legal processes, continue their studies in international law, and engage in comparative legal research.

LLM in Taxation

The Tax Program's comprehensive curriculum, outstanding faculty, and small, collaborative community provides students with a solid understanding of the complexities of tax law and the specialized skills needed to practice federal, state, and international tax law successfully. Admission to the Tax Program is available to both the domestic and international law students.

LLM in International Human Rights

The LLM in International Human Rights is designed for students with JDs or law degrees from other countries who wish to undertake an in-depth study of the norms and methods of international human rights law and international criminal law and their implementation by international courts and organizations and in domestic legal systems.

International Executive LLMs for International Students

Northwestern Pritzker Law's Executive LLM programs are designed specifically for professionals who cannot or do not wish to undertake a full-time LLM degree in the United States or elsewhere. The international Executive LLM programs are made possible through partnerships with IE Law School in Madrid, Spain; KAIST Moon Soul Graduate School of Future Strategy in Seoul, South Korea; and Tel Aviv University in Tel Aviv, Israel.
