Todd Maynes is a partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and focuses his practice on the tax aspects of debt restructuring and bankruptcy. He has been the lead tax advisor in numerous major bankruptcies and restructurings, including United Airlines, Conseco, Calpine, Charter Communications, Visteon, and WR Grace. Mr. Maynes has been named in Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in every year since 2004 and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America, the Legal 500 and Illinois' Super Lawyers. He is Chairman of the Planning Committee for the University of Chicago Federal Tax Conference and was previously chairman of the Chicago-Kent Federal Tax Institute. He has published numerous articles on tax matters, speaks frequently at tax conferences, and is the author of the BNA Portfolio on Start-Up Expenses. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from Brigham Young University. Mr. Maynes teaches Bankruptcy Taxation.
