Professor Tilley is a former news reporter who focuses on media law issues. After graduating from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, she was a journalist for several years, specializing in business and legal affairs at United Press International and other publications.  Professor Tilley graduated from Northwestern University Law School, where she served as Editor in Chief of the Northwestern University Law Review.  A member of the Appellate Group at Mayer Brown, she worked extensively on asbestos litigation, securities class action issues, and First Amendment matters.  She has taught courses in media law and ethics at Northwestern and at DePaul University's College of Communications. She clerked for Judge Richard D. Cudahy of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
