Advanced Bankruptcy

Advanced Bankruptcy is an interactive class exploring current topics in reorganization practice under Chapter 11. Class will be a combination of lecture, discussion, and simulations implementing the topics covered in the lectures and discussions. For 2024, topics will include the "Texas-Two Step" and mass tort bankruptcies, the validity and propriety of third-party releases in major reorganization plans, and the effect of Chapter 11 on real estate acquisition and ownership. Pre-requisite: Bankruptcy BUSCOM 665 or equivalent or permission of instructor is required
