Federalist Papers

The Federalist Papers, written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay, have justly been called the most influential essays on government ever written by Americans. They are frequently cited by the Supreme Court. This seminar will involve a close reading of the most important Federalist Papers, as well as several Anti-Federalist writers to which the Federalists were responding.
