Office of Community Engagement and Access

The Office of Community Engagement and Access at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law seeks to foster a welcoming and supportive Law School community where all students, staff, faculty, and alumni experience a sense of belonging, while also maintaining an intellectually rigorous environment in which myriad viewpoints are explored, shared, and debated. A primary skill of lawyers is the ability to see many sides of an issue. Cultivating a community made up of individuals with different life experiences, perspectives, and expertise contributes to our ability to train lawyers more effectively. In addition, the Office works to strengthen pipelines to legal education and the field of law by hosting pre-law programming that engages and empowers students from first-generation backgrounds and others with more limited access to information and resources relating to law school and the legal profession.

Samantha Kwok-Ting Woo
Associate Dean of Community Engagement and Access

"As a proud alumna of Northwestern Pritzker Law, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the Law School community that so well equipped me to begin my legal career.

During my decade-long career as a labor and employment attorney at a large international law firm, I remained steadfastly committed to expanding access to the legal profession and advocating on behalf of individuals who may be navigating the law school application and admissions process without the benefit of established networks, resources, or support. I am dedicated to working with our dean, faculty, staff, students, and alumni to foster and maintain a supportive and welcoming Law School community."

The Office of Community Engagement and Access helps to create a supportive, welcoming environment where all members of the Law School community can learn, grow, and thrive. All community members are welcome to attend programming and access services and resources provided by the Office, including, in particular, those who may need additional guidance and support meeting the challenges of navigating law school and entering the legal profession. Through outreach targeted to every phase of law school and career -- from applying for admission to joining alumni networks -- the Office develops, supports, and maintains the interrelationships that foster student success and produce satisfied graduates.
