Brian T. Whitlock is President of Brian T. Whitlock, P.C. which is of Counsel to Golan Christie Taglia LLP, a Chicago Law firm. Brian retired from Plante Moran, PLLC, a Midwest regional certified public accounting firm after serving as a Senior Tax Partner for over 30 years.
Brian develops and implements wealth transfer strategies and business succession planning for high net-worth individuals; and he deal with the administration and tax compliance aspects of trusts, estates, and exempt organizations.
Brian is a Past Chair of the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS), and a Past Chair of the Illinois Board of Examiners which oversees the administration of the CPA Examination in Illinois. In 2014, Brian received the ICPAS Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2018, Brian received the Chicago Estate Planning Council’s Austin Fleming Distinguished Service Award. In addition to his teaching, he writes a bi-monthly column under the by-line “Untaxingly yours” for Taxes – The Tax Magazine, published by the CCH division of Wolters Kluwer’s.
