Michael Melbinger


Michael Melbinger retired as partner and Chair of Winston & Strawn’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Department in 2021. He has nearly four decades of experience in advising boards of directors, compensation committees, and senior executives. He has partnered with boards to address myriad and varied challenges: executive and director compensation, human capital management, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, risk and incentive compensation, government and investor relations, indemnification, contract negotiation, succession planning and executive transitions, employee investigations, union and non-union employee pension and health benefit plans, ESG issues, equity and inclusion, taxation and accounting, compensation for multinational employees, and SEC reporting and disclosure.
