Biography
Evan B. Elsner is an experienced appellate attorney with a concentration in criminal and constitutional law. A graduate of Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law (’12), Professor Elsner returns to the law school after practicing civil litigation at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP for three years and serving for six years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals Division of the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. Professor Elsner has briefed and argued cases in the Illinois Supreme Court, Illinois Appellate Court, and several Illinois circuit courts, as well as in Illinois’s federal district courts and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. His practical familiarity with written and oral advocacy at all levels guides his approach to the Communication and Legal Reasoning course at Northwestern Law.
