Joy Whitfield

Access Services Librarian


Biography

Joy Whitfield joined Northwestern in 2025 as the Access Services Librarian at the Pritzker Legal Research Center. In this role, she ensures students, faculty, and staff have access to the PLRC’s services and resources.

Prior to coming to Northwestern, Joy worked as the Collection & Access Services Librarian at the North Carolina Central University School of Law Library, and as the Access Services Assistant and Student Manager at Duke University’s Perkins Library.

Joy received her MLIS in 2019 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a current member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and a former member of the Southeastern Chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries (SEAALL), where she served on several committees.
