Mitchell B. Weiss

Mitch is a licensed attorney and a CPA in Illinois, a frequent speaker at various tax conferences, and has published numerous international tax articles and books. Mitch is a member of the International Tax Journal’s Advisory Board and IFA’s USA Branch Council. His book publications consist of the following: United States International Taxation: Outbound and Inbound Activities, Commerce Clearing House / Wolters Kluwer and Carolina Academic Press, Tenth and Eleventh Editions, Vols. 1-2, (2014-present, with Postlewaite); Tax Cuts and Jobs Act Impact: Guide to International Tax (2018 CCH / Wolters Kluwer) (with Postlewaite); Partnership Taxation: Introductory, Advanced and International (2018-present, Student Problems and Instructor’s Manual, Thomson Reuters / WG&L Tax Series) (with Postlewaite); and United States International Taxation (2019-present, Carolina Academic Press) (with Postlewaite and Tokic).

Prior to joining DLA Piper LLP, Mitch worked in the tax practices of K&L Gates LLP, Deloitte Tax LLP, Sidley & Austin LLP, and Hogan Lovells LLP. Mitch received his B.S. and Masters in Tax from Southern Illinois University and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. He teaches Advanced Partnership Taxation and International Taxation of Partnerships.
