Workforce Science Project

The Workforce Science Project (WSP) brings together two central goals of workforce transformation, the use of data-driven insights, or talent analytics, to inform the management of human capital, and the inclusion of employees as full participants in the community of stakeholders.

Firms and investors increasingly recognize the critical role of talent analytics in achieving business outcomes and creating shareholder value. At the same time, leading firms are strengthening their commitment to developing innovative employment practices designed to improve their employees’ career prospects and quality of life.

Vanguard firms have begun to use analytics to evaluate their own social employment practices, but this use of analytics is not yet widespread. The Workforce Science Project promotes the assessment of social employment practices using the same talent analytics approaches that have been pioneered to evaluate productivity-driven talent management.

The Project sponsors and disseminates workplace research and encourages dialogue on policy issues through conferences that include the talent analytics community, academics, and a wide range of stakeholders. Because the areas touched by the growth of talent analytics are wide-ranging, the Project draws on experts in different disciplines including economics, psychology, management, and the law.

This project is under the direction of Deborah M. Weiss, Director, Workforce Science Project.

Human Capital Reporting

We strongly encourage all organizations interested in human resources to become involved in the efforts to create international standards for Human Capital Reporting. These standards are currently in development under the auspices of the Employment Quality Metrics Project, (ww.eqmi.org)
