Faculty Recruitment

Faculty Recruitment

The Law School Personnel Committee recruits for all tenured and tenure-track appointments at the rank of Assistant, Associate, and full Professor of Law. Tenure-track level appointments are made upon recommendation to the Dean by the full-time tenure-track faculty. The Dean of the Law School, the University's Provost, and the University's Board of Trustees must approve all faculty appointments.

The Law School actively recruits for faculty positions at the tenure-track levels listed above and the following non-tenure-track positions: Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Professor of Practice, clinical appointments in our Bluhm Legal Clinic and the Communication and Legal Reasoning (CLR) Program, and visiting faculty.

Northwestern is committed to excellent teaching, innovative research, and the personal and intellectual growth of its students in a diverse academic community. The ideal candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion through a history of work with students and colleagues of diverse backgrounds (including race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation and religion). The Law School especially welcomes candidates from underrepresented groups.
