Seattle Tech-Law Experience
The Seattle Tech-Law Experience offers Northwestern Pritzker Law students the opportunity to learn about the role of law in the high technology business environment of Seattle. Home to major technology companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, aerospace and space transportation companies such as Boeing and Blue Origin, and many technology startups, Seattle offers a rich environment for studying the impact of law on technology and entrepreneurship. The program is offered to students undertaking the San Francisco Immersion Program as a comparative experience in another west coast market propelled by technology and entrepreneurship. Students spend the first 10 weeks of the semester in the San Francisco Immersion Program and the last 4 weeks in the Seattle Tech-Law Experience. The Seattle Tech-Law Experience includes:
- Special Seattle Law and Leadership seminar at tech company location
- Teaching by leading Northwestern Pritzker Law scholars and Seattle corporate legal experts
- Seattle technology company visits hosted by in-house company counsel
- Workshops by, and visits to, Seattle law firms with significant technology law practices
- Student legal externships in Seattle-based technology companies
- Networking opportunities with Seattle-area Northwestern Law alumni
