Open Enrollment Basics

Open Enrollment (also called Add/Drop)

Open Enrollment, also called add/drop, allows students to add themselves into open seats and waitlists, as well as drop themselves from classes and waitlists until the published last day to add / last day to drop deadlines.  Every term has an open enrollment period that follows the conclusion of bidding.  Open enrollment is the only registration process available in the summer term.  It is also the only registration process used by students in the Master of Science in Law program.

Students can use the open enrollment period to fine tune their schedules after bidding has ended.  Students who are satisfied with the schedule they built during bidding are welcome to participate in add/drop, but not required to do so.  If you are satisfied with your enrollment after bidding, you do not need to take any action during the add/drop period.

During add/drop, you may drop any class or add any open law class for which you meet the pre-req (if any).  You may also add yourself to a waitlist.  For classes that were biddable, you will not be charged points for adding and you will not receive point refunds for dropping.  For enrollments that are not biddable, such as Senior Research, you will be charged points and must have the points available for the enrollment to be completed.

NOTE: It is recommended you submit one transaction at a time rather than entering multiple add/drop combos into your cart and attempting to process them in one transaction.  If you receive an error, please empty your cart and try to process a single transaction.
