Master of Science in Law Application Details
Application Process
To apply to the MSL program, please submit your application through the Slate portal.
The application requires the following:
- Statement of purpose that addresses specific questions
- Letter of recommendation (more than one letter is allowed)
- Resume or CV
- Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate programs
- International students must submit a TOEFL or IELTS score or apply for a TOEFL/IELTS waiver
- International students whose primary language is not English will be asked to complete a written and a spoken interview
- Video interview
Applicants are encouraged to submit standardized test score reports (e.g., GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT), but a test score is not required. Applicants are also free to submit additional letters of recommendation.
There is no fee to apply for the MSL Program.

Fall 2025 start (full-time residential format):
- February 1
- April 1 (deadline for international applicants)
- June 1
Spring 2026 start (part-time online format only; classes begin January 12, 2026):
- November 1
