MSL Students

Welcome, Incoming MSL Students!

We are very pleased to welcome you to our MSL Program and can't wait to get started. Please carefully review the information below to help you prepare for your arrival. If you have any questions, please contact MSL Student Services.

2026 Orientation

MSL Orientation is designed to introduce you to law study, prepare you for classes, and orient you to the MSL and Law School communities. Orientation is robust and busy, and it is mandatory for all incoming students.

MSL Orientation takes place over two weeks from August 10 through August 21, before classes begin on August 24.

Online students should save the date for two required Zoom sessions below. Online students are also welcome to attend the in-person, residential Orientation.

  • Monday, August 10, 6-9 p.m. CT
  • Thursday, August 20, 7-9 p.m. CT

For residential students, Orientation will open on Canvas on August 10 and will continue with in-person sessions the week of August 17 through August 21. We strongly encourage you to arrive in Chicago and get settled before August 10.

Before You Arrive

There are several tasks you must complete before starting orientation. Please see the MSL New Student Portal (log in with your NetID and password) for detailed instructions.
